See What I See

Where to start, where to start

I guess I will take it straight from my heart

I promise this poem is full of love and devotion

Though it may sometimes feel like enraged emotion

Maybe it is both, but it is my conviction

And the saddest part about being in love with addiction

~

I am writing this not to nag, bitch or moan

But hope to get some relief of my own

I am just asking you to start to see what I see

And hopefully, take some of the weight off me

~

See, it is getting heavy to carry each day what I do

But you are unable, so I will be the one to

It is heartbreaking to hear you do not think it is true

So, I will keep being the one who believes in you

~

I do not see hopeless, worthless, or broken

I hope that is clear, even without being spoken

I am just asking you to start to see what I see

And hopefully, take some of the weight off me

~

Each of our days has either been blissful or madness

But I want you to know there is always love, even among all the sadness

However, the intensity coming from these highs and these lows

Are eating at me, and it is starting to show

~

Every day I see a man so loyal and strong

Despite he has been so often told he is wrong

I am just asking you to start to see what I see

And hopefully, take some of the weight off me

~

It shatters so deeply within my soul

To see that your mind is so far in a hole

That you have come to a place where your strongest belief

Is that poisoning your body is the only way for relief

~

But it is NOT YOUR FAULT your mind is this way

And I will make sure to tell you that, every damn day

I am just asking you to start to see what I see

And hopefully, take some of the weight off me

~

Though it is not your fault, I want you to know

The direction you are headed will end in a deadly blow

Today is the day you need to turn it around

Or else you are going to end up in the ground

~

I know you can do it, or I would not be here

I promise you I will not disappear

I am just asking you to start to see what I see

And hopefully, take some of the weight off me

~

There is so much more that you can do

And we both know deep down that is true

I am not sure what scares you so deep in your bone

But I promise you will not be doing it alone

~

You are an outstanding human from your soul to your mind

And on top of all that, you can be so sweet and so kind

I am just asking you to start to see what I see

And hopefully, take some of the weight off me

~

I will be honest, my patience is dropping

And with all the exhaustion, I do think of stopping

But my love for you is too strong to explode

So, I promise to continue to carry the load

~

Know you are worthy of everything that you got

Because you are the one who stood up and fought

I am just asking you to start to see what I see

And hopefully, take some of the weight off me

~

You can take from my poem whatever you need

All I can hope is that it planted a seed

That your life is worth far more than you let yourself know

And just a little belief is all you need to grow

~

You are my best friend, my lover, my life

And when we get through this, you will call me your wife

I am just asking you to start to see what I see

And hopefully, become a man who is free
